Hilary (Pei-Wen) Lien is a PhD candidate in Pharmacy Systems, Outcomes, and Policy at the University of Illinois Chicago, specializing in Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR). Passionate about using real-world evidence and pharmacoeconomic modeling to improve patient care, she focuses on generating data that informs healthcare decision-making and value-based pricing.
Her research experience in PhD program includes developing cost-effectiveness models and conducting comparative effectiveness analyses to support policy and access decisions. She has collaborated with organizations like the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER) to assess the value of innovative therapies, including treatments for myasthenia gravis and obesity.
Hilary has over a decade of industry experience in Medical Affairs and Outcomes Research, working on evidence generation strategies across multiple disease areas, including Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Hepatitis B and C, Multiple Myeloma and Hodgkin Lymphoma. She has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations, showcasing her commitment to translating research into actionable insights for better patient outcomes.
Recognized for her contributions, Hilary received the UIC College of Pharmacy Research Day Horizon Award for Excellence in Research for her work on an ICER project and the Takeda Impact Award for advancing patient access to innovative treatments through real-world evidence generation. A licensed pharmacist in Taiwan, she continues to bridge research, policy, and patient care through her work in HEOR.
