Rush Medical College
Nil Patel is a second-year medical student at Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from the University of Florida in 2022 with a B.S. in Microbiology and a B.A. in Anthropology, along with a minor in Health Disparities. He is particularly interested in research regarding immune-modulating therapies, gastrointestinal diseases such as Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s, and gastric ulcers as well as the brain-gut microbiome connection, and advancing health equity for the community. He is currently planning on applying for internal medicine residency in the 2027 NRMP Match, with plans for a gastroenterology fellowship.
While in Chicago, he serves as Clinic Liaison for Rush medical at Community Health Clinic, one of the largest free clinics for uninsured patients nationally. At Rush, he also serves as a peer advisor for first year medical students and is a member of the Honor Code Council. In his free time, Nil enjoys pickleball, whitewater rafting, tennis, and karaoke.
