Justin Field, MD is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, followed by an Advanced Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Fellowship at UCSF. His clinical expertise focuses on addressing the unique healthcare needs of LGBTQ+ patients living with IBD.
In alignment with this focus, Dr. Field founded the UCSF Rainbow IBD Clinic, a specialized clinic that provides comprehensive, tailored care for LGBTQ+ individuals living with IBD. In addition to helping LGBTQ+ patients in managing their IBD, the clinic offers on anal cancer screening as part of its mission to deliver holistic care to this underserved community.
Dr. Field’s research interests include investigating IBD outcomes in the LGBTQ+ patient population and advancing anal cancer screening, prevention, and outcomes in IBD patients. His work combines clinical care and research with the goal of improving health equity and outcomes for these patient groups.
