Dr. Bruining is originally from Michigan. He completed his undergraduate training and medical school at Michigan State University. This was followed by an Internal Medicine Residency at William Beaumont Hospital and a Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at Mayo Clinic, Rochester Minnesota. His clinical interests include advanced diagnostic and monitoring modalities for IBD. He is an associate editor for ASGE IBD Journal Scan. Dr. Bruining is currently the Director of the GI Bleed Service and Section Head of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Interest Group at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN.
