As a resident in training who initially had conflicting ideas about the future, doing case reports and research projects helped align my goals with a passion. The combination of clinical practice and research helped me understand the ailments and their effects on individuals and improved ways to minimize and eliminate the impact of said ailments, hence illuminating the path of pursuing specialization as a goal to augment my passion for reducing suffering for people.
